boeing 747 history
In the movie Highlander, could someone please explain the “Finding a Boeing” and sword scene?

I’m a big fan of Highlander. However, one scene always confused me. The CSI lady confronts Nash w/ the sword she found. She tells him the metal had been folded a large numnber of times. Then, she says the Japanese didn’t do it until later in history. She compares the sword to finding a Boeing 747 during the age of the Wright brothers. Is it just a plot hole? Wouldn’t it be natural for McCloud to have a really old sword if he’s immortal?

What they meant is the craftsmanship of Connor’s blade was ahead of its time for the period it was supposed to have come from. I believe in the movie he said it was from 593BC. Thats why they compared finding a sword ahead of its time like that was like finding a 747 during the time of the Wright brothers.

Of course it would be natural for McLeod to have an old sword, but you have to remember, the katana he carried wasn’t actually his originally. It belonged to “Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez” AKA Sean Connery.
