boeing 747 cockpit pictures
What does a tiller in an airplane’s cockpit look like? ( A picture of a Boeing & Airbus tiller would be nice)

Esp. in modern models like the Boeing 737/747/767/777 and the Airbus 318/319/320/321/330/340/380

The tiller handle is usually on the captain’s side (though it is a customer option to have a first officer’s tiller). As stated by one of the other answers, it is located by the out board side of the captain left leg. Use the link below to see one. Scroll down the page a little ways to see a couple of pictures. Click on the pictures to see a larger view.

Other tiller handles have different shapes. A 777 has a handle with a knob on it. The 737 as shown in the links pictures looks like a 1/3 of a pie wedge.

The second link is a 777 tiller. You can see it just below the number two windows. It has an oval shaped handle that spins and is connected to an arm that turns. Since the 777 has 3 wheel trucks, the steering is also cooridinated with the last wheel truck that will turn the rear axle also when turning. It isn’t much of a turn. From what I remember it is only about 6-8 degrees.
